                                                                    Meet the Team

Mike Webster.

On leaving the  Royal Marines as Royal Marine Fencing Champion,  Mike embarked on a career as a professional fencing coach; finally achieving the rank of 'Diplomad Master of Fencing', or 'Professor', within the British Academy of Fencing.
Mike become an International Fencing Master in the '70s, working with both National, and International teams; he also become British Professional Fencing Champion, and was a member of the Great Britain Team in the World Masters Fencing Championships in Geneva in 1977.
In 1978, Mike left Gillingham in Dorset (England)  to farm on a small island in the Orkney Islands, which lie off the northern coast of Britain.  During his nine years on the Island he became apprenticed to a spiritual training group – the group, and the training he received would completely change the course of his life.
In 1996, nine years after his return to Scotland, Mike had a profound realisation that would become known as ‘Waveform’. Mike now lives with his wife Stella, in Scotland, on a hillside overlooking Loch Lomond; and together they travel the world teaching Waveform.
Mike is a Shiatsu Practitioner and Teacher – NLP Practitioner – Reiki Master and Nutritionist. Interests include Music, (mainly classical, plays instruments) Food (enjoys the preparation of food, and cooking, with Stella) Kayaking, Martial Arts (3rd Degree Black belt in Ju Jitsu) Fly fishing on the hill lochs (lakes) Flying, (ex freefall parachutist) and reading at home in front of a log fire.

Stella Webster. Waveform Teacher
Stella has always had an affinity with water. She spent eight years as a water chemist with a particular interest in water pollution control. Her free time was spent underwater if possible – scuba diving. This became a full time interest when she helped to crew a large sailing vessel chartered by divers for holidays. It was at this time she read avidly about homoeopathy;- self-sufficiency in terms of being able to deal with minor ailments whilst at sea.
Stella also learned reflexology but was sceptical about its uses other than for relaxation until learning  Waveform. Interests; the potential of Waveform for self-empowerment, and good health.
For Stella, getting married to Mike was the highlight of recent years, along with snorkelling in Lake Malawi!
Favourite activities; spending time exploring our beautiful world with her husband and son, Peter, ideally on or close to water.

Alan Leith. Waveform Teacher
Alan was born November 1959 in Greenock on the west coast of Scotland. At the age of 22 he started to learn Tukido under the tuition of Master Teh Hok An, achieving the level of 3rd Dan instructor. Alan continued his martial arts training in Ki Aikido. During his ten years in Ki Aikido he was graded to the level of black belt 1st Dan and learnt the theories of Ki and movement, and  was taught the healing art of Kiatsu (direct application of Ki on the body) used in Aikido for injury or illness to help speed up the healing process. This opened up a whole new world of ideas for him about the healing potential that Ki could have in assisting people back to good health and a balanced state.

Alan decided to enrol on the diploma course at the Glasgow School of Shiatsu under the tuition of Elaine Liechti (author of two books on Shiatsu) and Mike Webster developer of Waveform Energetics.
In November 1996 he successfully completed the school and the Shiatsu Society exams and was accepted on the register of the Shiatsu Society UK. Alan also has completed diploma or certificate courses in Chiropody, Foot Reflexology and Holistic Breathing Therapy, also known as Rebirthing.
In December 1996 Alan moved to Switzerland to be with his partner, now his wife Katharina.

In March 1997 he was accepted onto the register of practitioners of the Shiatsu Gesellschaft Schweiz (SGS) -Swiss Shiatsu Society.
Alan runs a private Shiatsu Practice in the city Zurich and is currently  studying Wing Tsun at The European Wing Tsun Academy, Switzerland under the tuition of Master Sifu Giuseppe Schembri.

In the 1970’s four friends, Anne, Doreen, Mary and Joy, came together on the island of Sanday, one of the northern isles of Orkney  for the purpose of meditating and healing. From small beginnings came forth a wide range of intensive teaching which enriched and changed their outlook on life.  Red Feather made himself known to them through the mediumship which developed through Joy and in healing that developed in all four friends.
       Joy and Mary
On an island remote from mainstream courses on healing and personal development, tuition was  given by Red Feather and other spirit guides who came in response to the friends increasing awareness of a deeper world within.  It had as its main lessons that of unconditional love and personal responsibility for each and every aspect of their lives.  The teaching always encompassed the part the elements and nature play in our lives and how we can all attune to it and help us become more aware of the Oneness of all life forms.

Thanks to the 1944 Education Act had a Grammar school start, but moved on to a ‘progressive’ school in his teens. Spent a few years working as a solicitors Managing Clerk in central London, and during this time he decided that he really wanted to be a teacher. He mixed adult education study with part-time work (driving wet fish deliveries and throwing drunks out of betting shops) until he found a place at Matlock College of Education, where he gained a Teaching Certificate and a B Ed degree (Nottingham University)
He had twenty-two years of mathematics teaching in two 11-18 Comprehensive schools in East Midlands mining villages, during which time he was Head of Department for ten years and had a variety of responsibilities for staff development, Despite other added education responsibilities he gained an MA in Curriculum Studies from Loughborough University. Tom says that he left teaching feeling much the worse for wear.

After a few years of enforced rest Tom took training in Shiatsu at Bristol School of Shiatsu. Gained the MRSS recognition of the Shiatsu Society. Offered his experience in curriculum and assessment to the Shiatsu Society in the hope of helping them improve their systems. He also became the vice-Chair of the Society while it was going through the trauma of incorporating.

Tom's practice has been at the Rosewell Shiatsu Centre, which is owned by his wife, and he spent four years offering serious Shiatsu in the Spa at the Center Parcs Holiday Village in Sherwood Forest. To Quote Tom -:
"Center Parcs finished my knees and I now do very little Shiatsu – but with Waveform, that does not get in the way of healing".

Acquiring a variety of skills, over the years, by venturing to ‘the city’ to study applied kinesiology.
Now after more than a decade of learning and facilitating, she has an interesting menu of ‘tools’: Touch for Health, One Brain (brain integration), Reiki and has become a certified BodyTalk practitioner.
Using muscle response testing she assists clients to uncover, understand and release many major issues, whether dating back to early childhood, in utero beliefs, or family patterns genetically inherited.  Waveform refines the abilities that she has developed.  Her organizational and office management skills will be an asset to the rapidly expanding Canadian branch.

Nicky Day. Assistant Waveform Teacher is 34 years old and has been living in Germany in Kassel, since September 2003, where she does energy work, teaches English and is the representative for Waveform in Germany.
Her interest in ‘energy’ was
first consciously explored 18 years ago, through a Hatha Yoga course. An exploration of energy-orientated arts followed and she discovered a passion for Tai Chi and Qi Gong, which have remained a constant in her life. Having started off studying computer studies and giving it up, after realising it wasn’t her direction, she investigated nutrition, spiritual philosophy and Process Orientated Psychology, and qualified as a Shiatsu practitioner.
Feeling there was something she just wasn’t getting, Nicky then did Waveform with Mike and Stella. Since then her energy work has expanded and developed and she has benefited personally.

Nicky wishes to give thanks to past and current teachers, friends and helpers that have guided her upon her path
